David Connolly
Yórgos Houliáras (1951-)
Translations by David Mason and the Author
Yórgos Houliáras was born in Thessaloniki and studied in Oregon and New York, where he has been living since 1975. He was co-founder and contributor to the literary journals Tram and Hartis. He has published five collections of poetry: Iconoclastic (1972); The Other Language (1981); Treasure of the Balkans (1988); Fast Food Classics (1992) and Letter (1995), selections of which have been translated in the USA and Europe. In addition, he writes articles in Greek and English on matters relating to literature, culture and history.
