Woman at the Turn of Age
Her face made up
and her body wilted in its natural time.
I embraced her like a burnt out house
that makes the carpenter shake his head.
And after, awake, I sat and looked at her.
Half her face
had something of all those who had dwelt within her.
Woman at the turn of age.
Furniture that hauled from birth
the desolation of the craftsman's hands.
