Michális Ganás (1944-)

Michális Ganás was born in Tsamadas in Thesprotia and moved to Athens in 1962, where he studied Law. He worked for fifteen years as a bookseller, then as a television presenter of programmes on literature and, since 1980, has been working for an advertising company. He has published four books of poetry: Upstanding Supper (1978); Black Stones (1980); Shiny lannina (1989); Ballad (1993), for which he was awarded the State Prize for Poetry, and one prose work, Step-mother Land (1981). He has translated Aristophanes' Clouds and his own work has been translated into numerous languages and set to music by notable Greek composers.
