a handful of poets duncan glen/ tom leonard/ alastair mackie/ james rankin/ roderick watson.

The Chapman (6) - 71/2p. george hardie, 123 montrose cres, hamilton, lanarkshire. a tiny 8 page mag that seems to be some sort of scotts renegade. macrimmon/ perrie/ thompson/ livingstone/ etc.

Clydesdale a sequence o poems by duncan glen. 30p. akros pubs, 14 parklands eve, penwortham, preston. a thoroughly enjoyable sequence in scotts but with a glossary for those that need it. its descriptive, documentative & complete with notes. almost an american verse form transcribed.

Crab Grass (4) 12p john gilbert/ marcus patton 7 rugby road, belfast 7. as far as mags involved in the recent neo-dada revival are concerned this one comes off best by far. its full of crazy tricks and twist & the most important point is that they really work. i'll go so far as to say that of mags of this type crab grass 4 is the best in the universe. every poem is illustrated and excelently too, and if its not a poem its a wierd statement and they are illustrated too. pull outs, fold ins, pictures, concrete, tricks all hitting you like a slap in the face. for 12p its the bargain of the year and you get a crab grass graffitti kit free (sticky labels pre printed to save you time when in the gents) plus the crab grass music drop out (which really does- falls right out of the mag). you are not a poet in this mag - you are a performer: mike gibbs/ philip jenkins/ fallon/ d c carr/ jaffin/ connors/ & many more. rush your cash off now before its sold out.

Ego (3) 4p. terri hooley, 5 camden st, beflast 7. mimeo poetry, notes & news sheet. ignores all together the troubles in belfast which i find strange considering the mags direction.

Id terri hooley, 5 camden st, belfast 7. a poor mans crab grass but then crab grass is a very hard mag to equal. taken on its own terms Id is a fine venture - less graphics but still a good deal more graphic-poem-prose linking than most little mags manage. no2 7p. music/ george cairncross story/ jenkins/ connors/ cartoons etc. no 3 4p (& a better issue) jim burns story/ it comics/ pop/ d c carr/ peter finch/ george dowden
