On First Switching on the Telly to Find That Changing Rooms Was On
I’ve watched a lot of telly in my time
Basically, and seen some pretty good stuff.
I’ve been to Cats and that one by Sondheim
And travelled - Cancun, Delphi, Magaluf.
I’d heard about the programme but somehow
I’d never got around to it. It was on
When we were out at bowls or, thinking now
It maybe clashed with Nigella Lawson?
But tuning in to BBC1 last night
It was like literally being, like, turned on
To get some MDF and Hammerite
And make our lounge look like the Parthenon.
I took Jan’s hand. She felt the same way too.
We’d realised what great TV can do.
