June 11th Tuesday
If this gets taken away it's so upsetting
Our poor planet won't cease from mental toil
And occurring in its empty space
Spendthrift childhood
Being penitent dear lord
To your message soldier
Who leaves the battlefield behind?
Of all that's befell
In those days befallen by their orders
To shoot a fellow man
For impolitic is not right
Where the world can go now
To be whom we are
But we are not from this island's deluge
Or purest aqua vita the source of life
To drink from the well
Is an old and tested spell
Not to put this shambolic planet together no
A bit to further worsen the most banal
Form of retirement – hoax
No remedy can fulfil the doctor's role
As no cup the medicine's man
Now lifts with no amount
It's a lot- we can all accept too much seems unjustified.
Poem and artwork are both by Robert Perry
