sitting on a low wall
smokeblue skirt hips spread
thighs in stretch tights
brown eyes laughing-
I walked the carnival streets
of Miraflores
green & red hydrogen balloons
soaring
obsessed by images of her
all right just her plump arse
or the way she moved it
turned me on at first.

cigarettes smoked coffee
notes on Conrad's themes
betrayal & corruptibility
willing her to come.

On the stone breakwater
yesterday
my red-haired daughter & I
crouched
looking across bluemetal sea
the rise & ripple of waves
some mottled olive fish
flipping over & twitching
starfish on the rocks
starved or drowned a guanay
beak wide & closing feebly
sun on the water spray
salt in my eyes
wanting to bury my head
between her soft thighs
