Hairdresser Sorrow
1.
She used to work also in a dress shop:-
‘It looked terrible!’
‘I reassured her double! “O madam
“It makes you look so young!!!”’
2.
The brushes before her glass
Were full of hairs of different textures.
She picked up a thin roller-like brush,
I said, ‘They are very dirty. You must use a clean brush,’
She changed to a similar brush
And half turned
Nervelessly loosening some of the hairs with her fingers.
3.
I told her I can’t bear hair on my face. ‘O Madam...’
A heavily jutting-out wedge
Today threatens my face, I should have been brave when I saw the
comb.
