Star play
walking fit to burst
half way to your house
headlights flowering crazy
I trash a bottle of dregs
remembering your address
falsetto clothes light up
in ignorant passing dazzle
I’m falling from a tailgate
with the testosterone belief
I tumble from a star
star particles shimmy
on my suburban skin
and write your name
in billion single photons
shining for light years
backwards to the center
of banging existence
your name upside down
back to front overlapped
wrapped like bracelets
round my arms and legs
a skin made of signatures
changing magnetic colour
where loops and crosses
tangle to enjoy themselves
I’m alight with gratitude
looking for open doors
your optimistic gadgets-
predicting lazy futures
sweet-soul afternoons
in sour-eyed morning
killer heavy metal riffs
pulse inside my head
I need a hangover cure
your smile of hopefulness.
