In the Drawer
I've a memory - not for facts or films
or fiction - but for dreams. Sometimes, if
I can be bothered, I write them down
in notebooks with other secrets.
I've a bedside drawer of secrets; stories
about - well, I shan't say who - written
in a kind of code, unspecific, with allusions
so I'll remember, but later
much later, they won't ever
work it out. Really - what I really
want to tell you about is the Paracetamol
stuffed behind the notebooks.
I wanted to tell you about my daughter.
