if I could believe in the town it night stay up another day and let the park love the children moving and putting their mouths on the metal bars and mothers like myself who call stay down from there and moving bottles left by the drunks and the children learning to be drunk and the heavy bodies of the trees wearing their name tags telling us we never learnt latin and the bark brought home on the children to a line of brown water around the bath which you wash away with the same movement each night as the water looks through the hole the same way and sings to another town wet-eyed where the women wear faces named after trees and the children climb them always drinking the language of bodies of brown and latin water and the town has set aside a day to wash them and build them see-saws which turn love over their knees they knit with white bread and belief
