Pictures from the second nightmare of October: Hope
(a letter)
All at once I saw all beauty clashing together
cymbals chiming, brushed with hair
and dear doctor cracking my knee I am finding
that living with hope can be more terrible than existing
without.
Once I believed that I had cried upon agony’s last breach
How foolish I was to limit the infinite!
Alas my judgement has come by in the form of heaven waking
and upon it a sadness reigns that no soul can bare tenderness
enough to.
It has turned winter here
and the people are challenging sticks to flame
but I, even I, am draining a bottle alone.
The warmth is unimaginable!
it tears down the throat, a battalion just for me.
The explosion in the stomach is best, the sickly green stomach
fluids
as sea-foam, the warm air shaking the cold:
Lightning has occurred!
There is still the question of you
stalking a white lie across the silence.
**
The stoic by the fireplace is burning
I must keep him there.
**
The solitude
waters in the air cravings again:
Like all the best moments
it had an element of unrealness to it
Hands interlocking, one finger jostling for position
at times it was as if life had melted into such an array of
colours
that we could not help but spill into one another.
My ankle bone is my charm it would shatter as easily
as the brittle pump where the blood passes through.
