nails, a hammer and tarpaulin
to make it habitable, but dangerous

Spending the night aloft
hidden among the branches
Where the headlights
of every passing vehicle
could be the police or security
Come to cut you down
You and the tree
Should no longer here
Standing in the way of progress
and the new road
Where children once played.
