The Right Place at the Right Time
There was a man said he would die
in Paris on a rainy Thursday,
and I wonder how he knew that?
I don’t know when I will die,
or where, and it doesn’t worry me,
though occasionally I’m curious.
Paris on a Thursday or any other day
would be fine by me. And London
on Friday might work just as well.
I’d hate to die in Preston on Sunday,
and Manchester on a damp Monday
has a sombre side I don’t relish.
There are other days and other places,
and some sort of combination
is sure to resolve the problem.
Meanwhile, I take note of my location,
and the weather, and hope to survive
for another week or two.
