Lament For The Living
Fall out of white feathers,
Angels asking us to get on-line to living
We are blood, skin and bone
With minds like cracks in the planet.
We are peeling the fruit and eating ash.
Our dreams are closest to plastic snow
Blood in the snow, tainted vision.
We are twenty-first century vampires.
A last kiss and we are dancing
To the tune of money.
Procrastinate and we murder time.
Like birds without wings;
We fall into the gutter,
Hedonists on a trip to nowhere.
Only the dead are oblivious
To the cost of living.
The devil plays estimation suicide.
We are poodles masquerading as wolves
When love erupts into hatred,
Our strength is our destruction.
Gothic music in the supermarket,
Poison on every street corner,
Christmas trees waiting to be
Undressed. We drink the wine
But forget to eat the bread.
The dead are sleeping under stone,
Whilst angels lament for the living.
