Goblin Market
I wandered down an unknown path
as twilight blurred the edges of day,
and came upon a goblin market
with goods set out in fine array.
“Come and buy! Come and buy
my exclusive dream-fixer;
catch that dream as it’s slipping by!
One spray and it’s yours for ever.
Special offer today! Come and buy!”
“Come and buy! Come and buy
this memory polisher;
you will love it if you try.
No matter how old, brings it up like new,
every detail distinct! Come and buy!”
“Come and buy! Come and buy
my blunder eraser;
The careless word, the ill-timed jest
that brought a tear to someone’s eye,
just one swipe - it’s gone and forgotten!
You know you need it ! Come and buy!”
“Alas! I have no money with me!
Can I come back another day?”
How I longed for their goblin wares!
But as I spoke, they vanished away.
