Food for Thought

If poetry is the food of thought, write on…
give me a poem with sensual food
asparagus and mussels to blend in the mood
broccoli spears with rich red wine
autumn candlelight and I’ll make you mine
creamed salmon with whisky and flaked almonds on trout
crisp fried golden potatoes tossed about
blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, cream
and a touch of vanilla to ensure you dream
of palm trees, beaches and unrippled blue sea
total seclusion for you - and me
reminiscing over that sensual meal
writing this poem and wanting it real
