At Two Hundred Thousand Miles Per Second
When black holes collide and imploding explode
pulsations of black shock and shards of black
light get shot throughout time. Over green
landscapes, through the flat bottoms of
floating clouds, this black light comes as
black beams to glow ribbed-blue off a rook’s
wing, tremble blue too in lashes’ roots along
the eyelid lips of lovers.
(In deliberately darkened rooms this black
light can see through to bones and print them
grey.)
Under flattened grass and the massed crumbs of
soil velvet moles cover their pink hands and
bathe in this black light. Deeper, between
compressing rocks, coal absorbs its black
reflections and oil lakes soak up the black
light’s stink. Black waiting on black.
