Liturgy
The heat of others in your eyes
as you casually fall apart
there are no liturgies for you
lost to yourself
you who adorned the moment
waiting killing time
to become another
somewhere
through pale rooms
and wisteria covered arches
where the street value of guilt is counted
you have gone
out into the beleaguered city’s heat
where love - maybe is
a stranger in an open car
where
over the shattered screams of the peacock
you
spoke of falling - like some spinning top
and of that long blue path
leading to the naked moment -
but
there were no magic dealers, no rebellions of the night
or synthesis only
that moment when the shutter clicked
the room froze
chaos flooding
chained to your Dream Parade
were you ever - were you ever
the only virgin in the universe
between my thighs you break me
with sweetness
and I fall away
to become another stranger in your life.
