Travel Update for a Busy Kingdom
Overnight, a heavy fall
of infants. Roads blocked.
Our Social Service does what
it can, but the children re-freeze,
are treacherous. Due to unseasonal gravity
walking now possible only for the slim.
A plague among the nation’s airports.
Red underwing pustules. They burst.
Engines also are swelling. Flight abandoned,
until cured. In tunnels, rails curl to the touch,
make letters, but it is too dark to read.
You may not arrive. Our thin monarch’s final appeal:
Stay at home my people. Sit. For once, be still.
