Have a Nice Day
Shhh…
I’m trying to work out what kind of day it is…
Some days…
Everyone’s limping and bleeding,
Like they’ve been shot. And I’m the only one standing up straight.
Others, I’m a stone thinner,
And my face is collapsing into my skull,
And I’m so tired,
And ugly,
And pale,
And I don’t dare stumble out into the cruel sunlight.
I’d crumble in its rays and dry up in its heat.
My ribs would break if I coughed and I’d bruise if someone shouted at me.
But, some days…
I feel beautiful,
And wonderfully selfish,
And sarcastic,
And ruthless.
Monstrous and powerful.
I couldn’t give a shit somedays…
But most days,
Everyone’s talking behind my back.
Dancing around the obvious and telling lies as the truth.
And other days…
The silent ones,
When all is calm and the air smells stale.
And it feels like something bad is gonna happen.
I hate those.
