a dog snoozes, in
this perspective further off
sits the saint in the portrayed
stillness of his chamber,
at his desk
he is writing
who knows what, on
paper, it might be
the one thing
unthought of, the word
deluded
target-fabricators
forgot, the word secreting
all it meant to take
shelter, safe
and sound
in the gray light that flows
without end
through these bullseye
windows
