Finders Keepers
Everyone else is down on the beach
hunting around, stepping on each others’
toes, bumping into their neighbours,
turning over all the stones and expecting
to find God, Truth and Happiness
hidden there. And I watch them
from my window, not joining
their pointless search,
knowing that I have all three here:
in a matchbox on top of
my chest of drawers.
