Wall
On this side it was colourful / windows and doors /
Rebellious ladders / Icarus
Wings chimerically painted at
One point / and me as well / beside
My unshocked child / as one day we
Came through it with a
Caseful of toys – Russian
Swords / Mongolian kettles / falling
Out of it – a typewriter / half-finished
Love-stories still stuck in the
Roller / and a couple of friendly
Postcards from Ellis and Franz / who came to stay
Twice more / before he ended under
The sod at Märkisch-Buchholz / I probably didn’t
Look back / continued shaking
My head in an orderly manner / leapt
Straight for Marina and Edith’s old
Banger / our sisters go in
Colourful clothes / showed me a
Paperwhite garden / between North and
Night / on the ground were lying
The crown-like hats.
