that's already been in a snake's mouth.
and as if it weren't going to be
punishment enough for adam,
in exile with her somewhere east
of eden, and no flags yet invented
to pull over her head and fuck for
old glory,
it looks to me as if
the fig leaf he's selected for
this crucial day's attire
may be poison ivy.
