Stigmata
She is a solemn child
In this glossy still; a magnetic horologue
innocent of developing fluids, Only a tissue-thin
skin keeps us from her.
Clear eyes swallowed the flash
Undazzled. She cam see us here, admiring
Her silent poses.
To her we are black and white with our rose eyes,
A future where she shall not waste her purity
On the summer grass.
Back there her fingers are signless,
Entangled in some inner calculation;
perhaps she’s counting the days, or the clouds.
The once tight bud
has mouthed its attentions
To the blue - numerous murmurs
Framing the stigma.
The petal tongues have sung and bowed out,
Spinning and dropping like balloons or children.
She emerges, skeletal and naked
Cleansing me of fear for her innards.
Wound clock inside two facing mirrors
Voicelessly chiming, we all
fall
down.
