Unearthing dancers along the silk road
I will lay sinews upon you
in your white clay slip
until the breeze fills
your terracotta sleeves
and leaving the mulberry orchards
you reach the red shales
where the shadows of isolated trees
stretch great distances
and giddy for the presence of water
you come upon
rock-roses, exuding resin
like vast dew.
