Hanging Fish
Taste it: fillets
hooked below, a bite
of spooling light
snapping the lure
with compulsive jaws.
We visit, curious,
asking for more
variety of snacks like this.
Not pictures at an exhibition,
all of fish.
Salt water in our hair,
our necks pulsing.
Imagination?
These oily colours on the plate
are like a photographer's deception
as the fisherman hangs fish to dry.
