Banshay
(The brown Burmese cat)
Cry until the storm has broken,
Run until the road crumbles to dust.
Love has destroyed the perfect trust,
My loss is now complete.
Fly, your blowing in the wind,
Reality a curse to my aching limbs.
I cut short your life and my loss
now is your gain,
To feel no pain and run again.
I miss your gentle calm like the sea,
washing the beach with smooth fleeting touch.
You are the sea and the tide has turned
And taken you far out of reach.
I am the beach tossing and turning,
Searching for lost pebbles and shells.
You have taken your soul in a boat
A shipwreck on paradise isle.
Blowing in the wind until we meet again.
Your eyes stare into the darkness
And plead with me to follow,
But my time is not parallel
With your relentless search.
This world has broken fragments of glass
To tear into the flesh,
Jagged edges to warrant destruction
And the mirror has broken like my heart
And your reflection has faded.
Banshay born to live yet destined to die
Before the fall of your eightth year,
Echo the glory to end your story.
I cut short your life and my loss is your
gain.
Eyes of green to see ahead
And rescue me when life ebbs and falls,
To feel no pain and run again with you.
