Bullets Are Out Of Date
Tough old films, with goodies and baddies
Falling-out for effect.
Celluloid morons spewing
Studio blood and bluff.
Not good enough.
We’ve seen 2001
Star Trek and Star Wars
And we want more.
Demand a cleaner kind of killing
No bloody mess to clean up after.
Leaden body to shovel under
Or enter secret, midnight water.
We’ve got to remind the producer
Violence has grown up.
His Death Rays never came true.
Stone, bronze, lead and iron
Had their heydays.
Dated weapons volunteered for Museums.
Plastics plus intelligence
Have stolen their thunder.
Now, the thought-force is the thing.
To kill without hurting.
That’s the death.
Bullets are out of date.
We want the latest
Lasers for Christmas.
