Oneness
It was a timeless summer afternoon
When swan-like clouds winged through an azure sky
And fleet-foot shadows sped across the downs
From the secret universe of you-and-I.
Our dwelling still is in that sunlit place
Which neither time nor afterlife can reach,
A world invisible and yet more real,
Poised between blue sky and golden beach:
Once more reflection opens up the door
And we from different ways and worlds are met,
And are the ones whom life can never change,
Upon whose love the sun will never set.
