Mad Meg
I own a border collie.
Her name is Mad Meg.
She jumps up on the furniture
And wipes her feet on the bed.
She spins round like a whirlwind,
Trying to catch her tail.
She jumps up at the letterbox
And chews up all the mail.
Whatever I am doing,
She always has to help.
She bites the vacuum cleaner,
Which sometimes makes her yelp.
Wherever I am going,
She’s right under my feet.
She trips me on the stairs
And jumps into my seat.
She drinks from the bath taps,
Shakes and chews my toys.
She pulls plants out of the garden
And makes a lot of noise.
I took her to the vet’s one day.
She knew why she was there.
She slipped out of her collar
And ran back to the car.
She likes to bring me presents:
A stick, a stone or a leaf.
I can’t leave any food out,
‘Cos Megan is a thief.
When we are in the garden,
I make jumps for her to leap.
Though most of the time she’s naughty,
She’s good when she’s asleep.
