So this is the new naval gazing
we watched it like John Hurt in Alien
mind blank as daytime television
clammed up in an argument
started doing the ironing.
Laughed and cried at the same time
for the first time like I was insane
saw a bum press flat out
like some school kid mooning
from my abdomen.
Zipping blue through traffic lights
came out first fist punching the air
to a Chopin nocturne
cut thoat by his own umbilical.
Severe the cord that secured the bond
to make like possible
at the time I were so off mi mind
with painkilling drugs I missed it all.
