Rubber Ring Floating
It looks like a firm ‘O’
Exclaiming as it goes
From one end of our pool
To the other
Carried on a gentle breeze
Bouncing off a white-tiled wall
Nice and slow
It looks ready to save someone
But no-one is swimming
Only my shadow
Slightly quivering
In your absence
As I think of your mouth
Forming an ‘O’.
