Pentheus' Hubris
Ashes of light the scant darkness of dawn
That just as ink thickens shines
Before being born
In the limbs that the sky sought
The wound where with briny power communed
The burial's body and the whirl's
Enigma
Wherein is the eye of righteousness for she didn't perceive
That from her innards his dark
Navel had parted, that frenzy is
Without eyes
Born and bred in the cry which gave him
Death, for in the rites and spells
In his mother's maddened loves
He sought to plunge, to plunder the glare
