Caferati is an unique “forum of and for writers in English. It operates online through message board, blog, and mailing lists, and in the real world through city chapters that meet face to face”. This collection of fiction is a result of their first online short story contest, one that is beautifully designed (by Hemant Suthar) and presented, and packed full of substantial literary content. There are thirty-two stories presented here — all diverse, disparate, exciting and breaking new formal ground. Some of the authors in this anthology that stand out for their literary merit are: Janhavi Acharekar, Amitabha Baghchi, Arjun Chandramohan Bali, Saugata Chatterjee, and Anita Vasudeva; but that is not to say the others are not in a similar league. A brilliantly exciting collection of new Indian fiction.
