singing a slow so long
to salvation sought in;
a wry fringe, wedge cut, crop no.2,
five button Oxford bags
crombie, sta prest, ankle whites,
ben sherman, button down,

and waking find a pillow of scant mule breath
hoof marks leading clack and segs
to a chapel of pimp acrylic
where D.J., garb monkey, breeches smart
trade sight for seeming
dealing tinsel hollows,
behind which,
hides grain comes the tide
hides sod and coral
and the knowing that
we are ebb, we are mire,
we are halibut’s pulse.
