Coming
Night comes down soothing sunlines
the stillness refines. Restaurant sounds
carry out from the lit awnings,
clearing of plates. The bay is sleepy.
The mountains circle above the town’s ramparts
with a cloud softness, making safe.
The horizon has drawn its line, vibrating under the inky dark.
I’m out on a rock shelf that walkways
above the wave line and the bay,
somewhere between the inner and the outer
looking forward to seeing her again.
The fishing boats trundle into shore,
lights on. Chug, chug goes the moon.
