Quiz
An easy topic. But so different
each time. T h e d a y j u s t e n d e d.
The next one pounced on it, a loud crash
was heard and the roar of dust flying
shattered the universe,
I kid you not.
It reminded me of other loving, other poems
forgotten colours.
In the blink of an eye
the light became a line on the horizon.
Then I catch successive
casts of your face
up in the air, I'm a juggler.
Now I fly through air pockets, slow
but steady. Steadily the night comes on.
Some grief-stricken women open fans
and swish the air round in the cold.
Vegetation runs rampant and laughs.
So don't ask me where this
staircase leads. The stairs lead
to the sky, where telephones all ring
at once.
