And the hair.
And the stomach.
And the mattress. And the socks hanging
above the gas fire.
And the places you could have gone to.
And the drugs you could have taken there.
And the lasses you could have
shagged (probably).
And the worry that doing all these things
later in life simply shows you’re a sadcase.
And the blaming of everyone from your cat
to Margaret Thatcher.
And the way it gets harder to find books that
really make you cry.
And the nostalgia for the bits that were good.
And God, the self-pity.
