Morning Papers
Above the daffodils, snowdrop fields
are advertised on lamp posts
underneath cherry blossoms lush,
the wind insists on showing us
that confetti can be as fleeting
as the heart shaped petals
carried to the distant horizon,
here’s me, waiting to soar,
you, rushing towards secateurs
for a struggling, wild dog rose.
