Supernova
The blind man jokes about his sexual prowess,
the office girls snigger into their gin.
The enormous off white poodle with the grin
for everyone in the room
winks a red eye at me as a tall
order in physicists argues loudly
about kippers and the chancellor’s wife.
The blind man with the insistent blink
loves to kid the girls, says he’d love
to get her alone in the dark, while
looking at the poodle with the insistent wink.
The loud physicist would love to belt
the chancellor’s wife with kippers
alone in the dark.
Alone in the dark the blind man has visions
of naked poodles gambolling through
acres of kippers with office girls up.
Alone in the darkness of space near Orion,
a supernova of poodles intrigues
the men of science into silence. They all
await the bouncing footballs alone in the dark.
