Wish
Thought I heard your heart skip
about the time you caught your breath.
Exposing your body with
a shameless kiss
I would feel and stroke
your velvetness.
Run my lips across
the fine hairs of your skin.
The soft brow of a fresh peach.
I was swallowed by the inferno of your soul.
Drowned in the raging torrents of your blood.
Coursing your veins and left
to howl in the corners of your beauty.
The rain stings my eyes.
Smacks the flat stones on
the verandah of yesterday with
relentless speed.
You used to turn your face to the storm.
Now you hide your head
beneath gathering clouds.
I wish you would turn this way.
Fall into my arms again.
