the back of her Easter neck
between a new wool sweater
and a tight Bauhaus hair-do
the back of her spring neck
said I will never tell her
she is destined to be poor
the back of her country neck
turns her from the exit sign
towards the beggar's cello
the back of her winter neck
said I will never tell her
she is destined to be lucky
the back of her pampered neck
does not know its gender
it's in love with pretending
the back of her summer neck
said I will never tell her
she is destined to be loved
the winter does not know
the spring's disappointment
the spring does not know
the winter's misfortune
I always climb the staircase
looking over my shoulder
for a neck free of seasons
