Christopher Barnes studied literature and history at Newcastle College then Poly in 1991, and has been a full-time writer ever since. He’s in love with contemporary Australian poetry at the moment and hoping for a long engagement.
Elizabeth Barrett’s first collection is Walking on Tiptoe (Staple First Editions, 1998). Writer in residence at BBC Radio Sheffield, she is now co-editor of Staple Magazine.
Ruth Bidgood, born in South Wales, has lived for many years in Mid-Wales, the area that has inspired many of her poems. Her eighth collection, Singing to Wolves, was published by Seren in March.
Alfred Bishop, born Glasgow 1954, gardener at Ayrshire Hospice. Interests: art, sex, wildlife, current affairs. Favourite poets: Auden, Eliot, Larkin, Lowell, Herbert, Jamie, Sweeney. States that with no exaggeration poetry is his salvation.
M A Bottomley was born in Birmingham, grew up in Gloucester and lives in Crewe. When not listening to deep house and soulful garage he lectures at Manchester Metropolitan University. Poetry in many magazines.
Rip Bulkeley writes “...have been so high ever since I’ve been writing. My best moment lasted seven months when one of my poems was postered on a London bus route for the 1997 lslington Festival”. Poems in many magazines and on many webzines.
Helen Clare recently graduated with distinction from Lancaster University’s Creative Writing Programme. A science teacher in a previous existence. Her more harmless obsessions include playing the recorder, watching cricket and fussing over her guinea pig.
William Danes-Volkov, 43, has one son taller than himself, one cleverer. He sees more dawns than sunsets, works permanent nights and keeps a few sheep on a three-acre field.
Caitlin Doyle grew up in a house full of books, reading and writing, and is now a freshman in the Purchase College Film Conservatory, hoping to combine her love for words with her love for movies.
Alan Dunnett was born in London in 1953. A former theatre diredor, he is currently Head of Postgraduate Studies at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama. His poems have appeared in magazines including OUTPOSTS, THE RIALTO, ORBIS, STAND, THE FROGMORE PAPERS & THE INTERPRETER’S HOUSE.
Michael Hatwell retired early from Italian teaching in 1988. Is married with 2 cats. Rather a lot of his poems & translations have appeared in little magazines.
Jonathan Jones is twenty-five and graduated with an MA in Creative Writing last year from Bath Spa Universityy College.
