The heart of Wales is broken
its beat will sound no more.
The soul of Wales is shattered
and cannot be restored.
Cwmaman’s streets are silent
its skies are black as lead.
Cwmaman’s son is gone, love
Cwmaman’s love is dead.
But he will be remembered
whenever music plays,
in all who love their homeland,
its people and their ways.
And he will be remembered
wherever voices sing.
Though colours fade to monochrome
his smile will never dim.

Stuart Cable, drummer, broadcaster and founder member of Welsh
rock band The Stereophonics died at his home in Llwydcoed, South
