In Between Hangovers ed. Jack Latchford
A5 | 40pp | £Free | Reviewer: Paul Neads
The contents are engagingly eclectic, ensuring that both casual browser and cover-to-cover reader will have their poetry glands massaged. Full-on stimulation of this sort is hard to come by, and so top marks to editor Jack Latchford’s policy and remit - indeed, the editorial in issue 1 sums it up nicely: “this magazine is put here for you, but it is up to you what you do with it”. Three issues in and it is already going bi-monthly instead of quarterly, so kudos all round then. Some familiar names to TUT readers who have already graced its pages include Geoff Stevens, Paul Tristram, JD Nelson, Chris Major and Christopher Barnes - so if you’ve enjoyed their muse in TUT check out IBH. Old punks may even raise a smile to find Dick Lucas is still on form. IBH claims that it “is not a pretty mag and should be treated as such”, although the consistent quality of contents and brilliance of covers go some way to, pleasantly, contradict this. Seek it out. Go on. It’s free.
