Caring
We women are expected by the rest of the world
to be non-top transmitters
of messages about caring
The worst charge they make against us
is that we don't care
Which we feel compelled to deny, saying we do
Oh, but we do
Where in our female bodies
is space
for this bottomless reservoir
which is ours alone?
A man turning his back on his wife in bed
is perhaps only shifting to a more comfortable position
If a woman does the same
she must have stopped-- you know what
Oh well, we all know what follows
He finds another
who promises her transmission will never be defective
You may see a few of them around
they are so reluctant to turn over in bed
all their wrinkles are on one side of their face
