Things you did not know
(for Sharah)
I was standing
on the brink of madness,
tortured by a tragic
obsession with the past,
burdened by a memory,
trapped and unsure
between loss and hope,
I was a ghost
inside a man,
lost and alone
in an eternal mourning,
dead to the world
that walked about me.
Then you came like
a dream out of the nightmare,
to love and comfort me, I pray.
Something about you
seems to radiate,
your smile reminds me
of the freshness of roses,
your eyes are like soft lightning
in the darkness,
you electrify my heart again,
so beautiful,
you make me forget the past.
Untouched, I hope
by sorrow,
unburdened yet by sin,
now all I want to do
is see you laugh
and smile like perfection.
