Fluid Sculptures
At the last British Haiku Society AGM I ran, what is becoming, one of my annual workshops. Before deciding on the content of a workshop, I always plan in a traditionally 'teacherly’ way by writing down what my aims and objectives are. Usually I want to inspire people to write haiku, which is not always easy in a confined space.
On December 3, 2005 the workshop was particularly experimental, in that it involved movement and body sculptures. As always, even the more reticent members participated enthusiastically.
The aim of the workshop was for haijin to write haiku based on their observations of each group’s movement and sculpture creation. Below is a selection of haiku written on the day.
